We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Technician to join our team in Pembroke Pines. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance of our fleet of waste management vehicles while leading a team of technicians. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


  1. Diagnoses advanced mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems, including chassis and body issues, and performs repairs and maintenance on all equipment to maximize safe and productive operations. Reviews and completes repairs identified on DVIRs (Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports) and repair orders.



  2. Performs repairs and maintenance on heavy-duty equipment, including but not limited to Rear Load, Front Load, Roll-Off, Grapple, Port-a-let, and other service-type trucks, including chassis and body components.



  3. Road tests vehicles to diagnose problems and verify completion of repairs.



  4. Responds to emergency road calls to repair trucks and/or coordinates towing when repairs cannot be completed onsite.



  5. Communicates with managers and drivers regarding vehicle conditions and discusses preventative techniques to reduce future repairs.



  6. Completes all required paperwork and computer data entry, including documenting parts usage and labor time on repair orders, in a timely and accurate manner.



  7. Follows all company safety policies and procedures.



  8. Maintains a clean and safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.



  9. Utilizes vehicle electronic systems to interpret failure modes and initiate or assign repairs, including the use of diagnostic laptops for both chassis and body troubleshooting.



  10. Performs repairs using Factory Service Manuals.



  11. Conducts safety inspections on vehicles and equipment.



  12. Performs all other duties as assigned.



  13. Maintains a high standard of ethics, professionalism, and dependability.




OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Attend and participate in corporate-sponsored training courses as assigned.



  • Stay current on the latest technologies and equipment used by Waste Pro to ensure effective maintenance and repair processes.



  • Undertake any additional job duties as assigned by the supervisor.




WORK ENVIRONMENT:


  • Normal setting for this job includes both inside and outside work, with occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS


  • Extensive knowledge of maintenance and repair techniques for heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.



  • Ability to perform road calls and test drives; valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.



  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid CDL license; preferred.



  • Mechanical or trade school certification required; ASE Master Mechanic Certification preferred.



  • Proficient knowledge of tools and equipment required to perform vehicle and equipment repairs.



  • Basic to intermediate computer skills required.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs from floor to overhead unassisted.



  • Ability to push and pull 50 lbs unassisted.



  • Ability to frequently (100-200 times per day) bend at the knees and waist.



  • Ability to frequently (100-200 times per day) reach overhead or extend arms to perform work.



  • Ability to frequently (100-200 times per day) twist at the waist.



  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions, including during road calls.
