Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department

11a - 11p
3-12 Hour shifts per week
5 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
1 on call shift per 6-week schedule
weekend and holidays are required

The Emergency Department is a 19 bed/ 4 chaired area with a separate 2 bay, 1 bed clinical decision area designated for patients ranging in age from birth to death with health care needs from nonemergent to critical. The unit has designated rooms used for life-threatening conditions with special equipment and supplies, and rooms designated as fast track for non-emergent patients

Job Description:

A Registered Nurse (RN) implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person and the creation of a caring environment focused on healing and wellness. • Assessment and identification of patient needs and implementation of appropriate interventions considering the needs of patient populations per department scope of service.
• Delegation of nursing care activities and provisions of supervision; establishes and maintains a plan for the delivery of nursing care; assures that nursing care interventions and activities are directed to resolve problems; and performs technical aspects of care competently.
• Has access to medication storage areas as required for job tasks. Follows Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures.

Requirements:

• Current RN licensure recognized by the Kentucky State Board of Nursing is required.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (Bachelor's Degree preferred)
• Completion and maintenance of BLS.
• ACLS & PALS (or ENPC) within 6 months of hire.
• Preferred TNCC
• NIHSS within 3 months of hire.
