Siebert Williams Shank (SWS) is conducting a search for a Debt Capital Markets (DCM) Associate to join its capital markets team and work in-office from its NYC headquarters on Wall Street. Our capital markets team is committed to delivering innovative solutions and exceptional client service.

Position Overview

As a DCM Associate, you will be an integral part of our DCM team, responsible for supporting the origination, structuring, and execution of debt capital market transactions. You will work closely with senior DCM professionals and collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to provide comprehensive financial solutions to our clients. The candidate best suited for this position is eager to work at our firm, seeks the challenges that accompany the effort to chart new territory for the firm, and has a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

1. Transaction Execution:

• Assist in the execution of debt capital market transactions, including bond issuances, syndicated loans, private placements, and other debt-related products.

• Conduct financial analysis, credit assessments, and due diligence to support transaction structuring and pricing.

• Collaborate with the legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and documentation processes.

• Coordinate with internal teams and external parties, such as legal counsel, rating agencies, underwriters, and investors, to facilitate smooth transaction execution.

2. Market Research and Analysis:

• Continual monitoring of market trends, economic conditions, and industry developments to provide insights and recommendations for potential debt issuances.

• Conduct research and analysis on industry peers, comparable transactions, and market benchmarks to support pricing and structuring decisions.

• Prepare pitch books, market updates, and presentations for clients and internal stakeholders.

3. Client Relationship Management:

• Collaborate with senior DCM professionals in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.

• Participate in client meetings

• Assist in preparing client proposals, participating in client meetings, and providing expertise on debt capital markets products.

4. Team Collaboration and Support:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales and trading, equities, public finance, legal, compliance, and operations, to ensure efficient and effective deal execution.

• Support senior DCM professionals in managing deal pipelines, prioritizing tasks, and meeting transaction deadlines.

• Mentor and guide junior team members, sharing knowledge and best practices to foster their professional growth.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field (Master's degree or CFA certification is a plus).

• FINRA Securities Industry Essentials, 79 and 63 licenses

• Strong understanding of debt capital markets, fixed income products, and financial markets.

• Solid quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to conduct financial analysis and modeling.

• Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.

• Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

• Familiarity with financial databases, such as Bloomberg or CapitalIQ, is preferred.

We are Committed to Fair Pay. At SWS, we are committed to fair, transparent pay and strive to provide competitive, market-informed compensation. The target total fixed compensation range for this position is $135,000 - $165,000. Compensation for the successful candidate will be determined by the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies and experience. This position is also eligible for a discretionary bonus.
