Project Manager (Commercial Landscaping)

Vaco has partnered with a client in Plainfield, IN to hire a Sr. Project Manager to lead commercial landscaping projects.

This person MUST have5+ years of experience in commercial construction, commercial landscaping, environmental preservation, or earth moving equipment

Location: Work will be conducted onsite at the Plainfield, IN office with occasional travel to client sites in IN, OH, and KY.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Management
  • Planning, coordinating and managing all phases of projects, including project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and closeout.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure that projects adhere to scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Analyze project status and, when necessary, revise the scope, schedule, or budget to ensure that project requirements can be met.
  • Maintain effective communication with project team members and clients to provide project updates, address concerns and foster strong working relationships.
  • Establish and maintain processes for managing scope during the project lifecycle, setting quality and performance standards and assessing risks.
  • Identify, communicate, and issue change orders to client based upon recognized upcoming changes in scope beyond the control of company.
  • Report project outcomes and/or risks to the leadership team and escalate issues, as necessary, according to project work plan.
  • Conducting regular site inspections to assess project progress, identify risks, and ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and legal requirements, prioritizing a safe working environment for all involved.

Team Leadership
  • Lead safety culture by example and close coordination with Company Safety Team.
  • Build and develop the team to ensure maximum performance, by providing purpose, direction, and motivation.
  • Mentors Tiers I/II/III/IV/V.
  • Promote continuing education and professional development to maximize team members' potential.
  • Proactively shapes work environment at Company.

Business Development
  • Communicate effectively and build working relationships with clients, subcontractors and vendors.
  • Actively seek and offer clients additional services whenever practicable on existing projects.
  • Request client feedback on company performance during and post project.
  • Maintain working relationship throughout and follow up post project to obtain future project opportunities with client.
  • Request client referrals within network whenever possible.
  • Constantly exhibit the professionalism to compliment company brand and require it of entire project team.

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial construction, commercial landscaping, environmental preservation, or earth moving equipment is required
  • College degree in construction project management is preferred
  • Minimum of 10 Hour OSHA trained
  • Experience working with Procore software is highly preferred
  • Excellent project management skills, including effective planning, organizing and prioritizing tasks.
  • Proficiency in resource allocation including field team members, equipment and materials.
  • Efficient in technology-based tools to capitalize on efficient tracking and reporting for self and business.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven success working with all levels of leadership.
  • Time management skills.
  • Effective organization (Internal and External) ability.
  • Ability to recognize and capitalize on efficiencies during the process.

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;
  • office location and other geographic considerations;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco by Highspring believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
