Position Overview:
The Senior Product Manager, PBS KIDS Games supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of the PBS KIDS Games ecosystem, spanning the PBS KIDS Games App, developer tooling, and supporting technologies.
The free PBS KIDS Games app is the mobile games destination for PBS KIDS, and serves a library of 280+ games to kids between the ages of 2-8. The app is distributed through Apple, Google Play, and Amazon platforms and features games to support the curriculum goals of award-winning PBS KIDS programs such as Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood, Arthur, and Sesame Street. The app averages 3.5 million users per month, and is one of PBS' fastest growing products.
Games tooling and distribution also supports games on pbskids.org and are played by 6M unique monthly users.
This role bridges product strategy and execution, turning vision into actionable delivery plans, while ensuring PBS KIDS' games are accessible, high-quality, and aligned with the organization's educational mission.
Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Roadmap Delivery & Execution
Manage day-to-day product delivery across the PBS KIDS Games ecosystem, including app, web, and tooling initiatives. Translate the strategic roadmap into clear milestones, sprint plans, and deliverables that support player, partner, and content team goals. Track project timelines, dependencies, and risks, ensuring alignment with PBS KIDS' technical, educational, and accessibility standards. Support delivery of new product features and infrastructure improvements that enhance scalability, performance, and sustainability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with Content, Editorial, and Producer teams, who lead game design and development, to ensure product and tooling efforts effectively support their creative vision. Partner with Engineering, Design, and QA to ensure timely, high-quality releases across app and web platforms. Work closely with the QA Manager to coordinate testing, bug triage, and release readiness processes. Facilitate communication between internal teams, vendors, and external partners to keep all stakeholders aligned on priorities and progress.
Analytics & Reporting
Use Google Analytics and internal dashboards to monitor product performance, user engagement, and feature adoption. Collaborate with the Director to interpret analytics insights and inform iterative improvements to player experience and tooling. Prepare reports and presentations that translate data into actionable updates for leadership and cross-functional partners.
Vendor Coordination
Support the Director in managing relationships with external developers, vendors, and contractors working on PBS KIDS Games initiatives. Coordinate reviews, feedback loops, and milestone sign-offs across vendor engagements.
Quality & Accessibility
Partner with the QA Manager to ensure releases meet PBS KIDS' expectations for functionality, usability, and performance. Champion accessibility and inclusive design throughout the delivery process, ensuring compliance with WCAG and PBS KIDS internal standards. Support playtesting and kid-centered usability studies to validate design and gameplay experiences before launch.
Documentation & Communication
Maintain organized, up-to-date documentation of product decisions, delivery status, and dependencies. Ensure clear communication of updates, blockers, and priorities across cross-functional and leadership teams. Contribute to post-launch retrospectives and process improvement initiatives.
Requirements for success:
2+ years in product management, digital production, or project coordination-preferably in games, educational media, or app development. Strong understanding of Agile workflows and cross-functional collaboration in fast-paced creative/technical environments. Familiarity with mobile and web game development lifecycles, app distribution, and content delivery systems. Experience using Google Analytics or similar tools to monitor engagement and performance metrics. Excellent communication and organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through. Demonstrated commitment to accessibility, child safety, and educational impact. Experience coordinating or supporting vendor relationships is a plus.
