Kalman & Company's Business Analytics team is seeking a motivated, experienced professional to join our growing team of cost analysts serving Federal and DoD clients in Stafford, Virginia. Successful candidates must possess excellent skills in quantitative research, analytics, and oral and written communication.

Duties/Responsibilities:



  • Support the application of mathematical and statistical methods to develop cost estimates
  • Assist in planning analyses, collecting data, and building cost models
  • Help document and present cost analyses, including life cycle cost estimates and risk drivers
  • Contribute to developing and maintaining cost and affordability models
  • Participate in program milestone reviews and acquisition strategy discussions
  • Assist in creating cost databases and estimating relationships for major programs
  • Help prepare budget requirements and funding forecasts
  • Support evaluations of contracting strategies and economic analyses
  • Collaborate with teams to achieve project objectives and solve business challenges
  • Prepare technical documents and briefings for stakeholders under guidance from senior analysts
  • Perform data collection, normalization, and validation to ensure accuracy of cost models


Required Skills/Abilities:



  • Experience using cost estimation tools (e.g., ACEIT) for developing and maintaining cost models
  • Knowledge of financial forecasting, budgeting, and cost analysis
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to work with large datasets
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and willingness to learn advanced analytical tools
  • Ability to develop and maintain financial models with guidance
  • Familiarity with Government or DoD financial regulations (or willingness to learn)
  • Strong communication skills for presenting findings to stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and seek guidance when needed
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify cost trends and risks



Minimum Requirements:



  • US Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., economics, engineering, mathematics, operations research, statistics or business)
  • Certified Cost Estimator/Analyst (CCEA) or Professional Cost Estimator/Analyst (PCEA)
  • Two to five years of experience in cost analysis or related field, preferably supporting the United States Marine Corps or the Department of War.


Preferred Skills:



  • Familiarity with Risk Simulation tools such as Oracle Crystal Ball or @Risk
  • An Active Secret Clearance.
