We are looking for an Equipment Maintenance Technician to join the Implant team in Austin, TX.


Hours: A Shift: Sunday through Tuesday and every other Wednesday from 6:55 am to 7:10pm.


Source Rebuild Responsibilities



  • Component Inspection and Diagnostics: Performing initial inspections to identify failures, such as unstable arcs, beam stability issues, or component-level degradation like elastomer wear.
  • Disassembly and Decontamination: Safely dismantling the source assembly and performing extensive chemical decontamination and surface cleaning to remove hazardous residues (e.g., arsenic, phosphorus, or boron species).
  • Part Replacement and Refurbishment: Replacing consumable or damaged parts, including:
  • Filaments and Cathodes: Crucial for plasma generation.
  • Arc Chamber Components: Cleaning or replacing the repeller, aperture, and chamber walls.
  • Electrodes and Insulation: Inspecting extraction electrodes and isolation components for whisker-like growth or electrical shorts.
  • Precision Reassembly: Skilled reassembly of the ion source box and its internal manifolds, ensuring vacuum integrity and alignment of extraction apertures.
  • Vacuum Integrity Testing: Performing mandatory leak checks on the source area to prevent process-lifetime reduction and ensure stable operating pressures.


Documentation and Uptime Management: Maintaining detailed logs of maintenance activities to optimize "source lifetime" and minimize production downtime (a standard rebuild can take roughly 1.5 man-hours per source).


Safety and Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring all work adheres to strict safety standards for handling hazardous gases and high-voltage equipment.



  • Participating in Maintenance or cross-functional teams such as 5S
  • Take ownership of small projects and equipment assembly tasks
  • Work with outside vendors as required.
  • Process chemical and gas handling
  • Maintains critical spares and consumables inventory.
  • Use hand tools including wrenches, calipers, voltage/current meters, oscilloscopes and other various equipment technology specific tooling


Required Qualifications:


Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent , preferable 2 Year Technical/associate's degree in science, Math, Engineering, Semi-Conductor Manufacturing


Experience:



  • 0 - 3 years of experience in an Equipment Maintenance role within the Semiconductor industry
  • Demonstrate electro\mechanical\fluidic circuit troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance.
  • Capable of demonstrating analytical troubleshooting methods (Root Cause Analysis, 8D Problem Solving, and 5-why), and First Time Right repair skills
  • Able to follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks and required documentation; demonstrate solid work performance in an environment requiring high level of attention to detail and timeliness.
  • The ability to work in a cross-functional team environment, prioritize tasks, and plan for maintenance is essential
  • Experience using hand tools including wrenches, calipers, voltage/current meters, oscilloscopes and other various equipment technology specific tooling



Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts.
  • Ability to work with and around chemicals.
  • Wear complete fab attire for an entire shift and meet all safety and cleanroom requirements.
