This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on technical expertise to manage enterprise infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, cloud platforms, and security tools, while driving modernization initiatives and supporting business-critical projects.

The ideal candidate will have strong management skills and deep technical knowledge across infrastructure domains, enabling them to guide the team, resolve complex issues, and fill critical technical gaps when needed. Experience supporting manufacturing environments with shop floor systems and familiarity with CMMC and SOX compliance is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and mentor the infrastructure team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, incident response, and service delivery for global infrastructure.
  • Manage project planning and execution for infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and new implementations.

Infrastructure Operations

  • Ensure availability, performance, and security of core systems: servers, storage, virtualization, backups, and networking.
  • Oversee monitoring and alerting processes; drive improvements in incident response and root cause analysis.
  • Maintain compliance with internal standards and external regulations for infrastructure and security.

Cloud & Disaster Recovery

  • Manage hybrid cloud environments (AWS and Azure), including compute, storage, and networking.
  • Own disaster recovery planning and testing for critical applications and services.

Security Collaboration

  • Partner with the security team on:

    • Vulnerability remediation and patching for infrastructure components.
    • Penetration test support and remediation tracking.
    • Endpoint security hardening and configuration standards.
    • Email security (Mimecast) and SSL certificate lifecycle management.
    • Network access control (Cisco ISE) and related policy enforcement.

  • Ensure infrastructure changes align with security policies and compliance requirements, including CMMC and other regulatory frameworks.

DevOps Partnership

  • Collaborate with the DevOps team to:

  • Align infrastructure and application deployment strategies.
  • Optimize resource provisioning and automation for hybrid environments.
  • Ensure infrastructure readiness for application releases and performance tuning.

Technical Oversight

  • Provide escalation support for complex issues in areas such as SQL, Linux, storage, and cloud architecture.
  • Ensure documentation of processes and configurations.
  • Develop and maintain the infrastructure roadmap - outlining upgrades, modernization initiatives, and alignment with business priorities.

Vendor & Financial Management

  • Manage vendor relationships, renewals, and licensing for infrastructure products.
  • Contribute to budgeting and forecasting for infrastructure projects and operational costs.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in infrastructure roles (systems administration, network engineering, or similar).
  • 3+ years of experience managing technical teams or large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Strong technical expertise in:

    • Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization (VMware/Cisco UCS).
    • Storage and backup technologies (NetApp, SAN, Data Domain).
    • Cloud platforms (AWS and Azure) and disaster recovery strategies.
    • SQL Server administration and monitoring.

  • Familiarity with security tools and practices (email security, endpoint management, vulnerability remediation).
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills; ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • 20% Travel required.
