Position description

The Department of Internal Medicine: Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine is recruiting for 1 full-time faculty member in the Professor of Clinical X or Health Sciences Clinical Professor series at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor rank in Pulmonary Hypertension.

Faculty in the Clinical X series are expected to engage in professional competence and activity, teaching, research and creative work, and University/public service.

Faculty in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series are expected to engage in teaching, professional competence and activity, scholarly or creative activities, and University/public service.

EXPECTATIONS

The successful candidate will have strong clinical skills and an interest in Pulmonary Hypertension, Pulmonary Embolism and Critical Care. Candidates will provide outpatient care of patients with pulmonary vascular disease and inpatient care including pulmonary consults, full scope of critical care including primary management of ECMO patients. The incumbent will work directly with the Director of the Pulmonary Hypertension Program to help broaden the scope and community outreach of the program. Specifically the successful candidate will support the growth of Pulmonary HTN care, work closely with the university PERT program to optimize post pulmonary embolism care and support population health based clinical research programs.

The incumbent will provide teaching and supervision of medical students, residents, and fellows.

Participate in appropriate professional societies and educational organizations.

Provide service to department and school committees.

Ability to foster collegiality and work collaboratively in a diverse environment.

Ability of work collaboratively to enhance the quality and excellence of the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine.

Ability to adhere to University policies and procedures.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Candidates must possess or be eligible for the following:

* M.D., M.D./Ph.D., D.O. or equivalent degree

* Teaching experience at the medical student or resident level

* Strong Clinical Skills and interest in Pulmonary Hypertension

Additional qualifications (required at time of start)

Candidates must possess or be eligible for the following:

* Board certification/eligibility in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine

* Medical licensure or eligible for licensure in the state of California

* ACGME accredited fellowship or equivalent experience

Preferred qualifications (other preferred, but not required, qualifications for the position)

* Conduct research to strengthen the academic impact of the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine.
