Maintenance Worker I – Facilities Division The City of Mill Valley is seeking a reliable, hands-on individual to join our Public Works Facilities Division as a Maintenance Worker I. This role supports the City’s Community Center and Aquatics & Fitness Center—helping keep these high-use recreational spaces safe, clean, and welcoming for residents of all ages. This is an excellent opportunity for someone beginning or growing a career in facilities maintenance. You’ll assist with building and custodial maintenance, respond to service requests, help maintain pool, spa, and kitchen facilities, and work closely with staff and the public. Training is provided, with increasing independence as skills develop. See CalOpps.org application for key responsibilities. Ideal candidates enjoy problem-solving, working with their hands, and contributing to a positive community environment. Experience in general maintenance, custodial work, construction trades, or mechanical repair is helpful but not required. A strong work ethic, safety mindset, and willingness to learn are essential. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of related maintenance or building trades experience.
