Overview Build your clean energy career in one of the largest demand response teams in the country! Con Edison's demand response team is hiring a Clean Energy Senior Specialist. The demand response team manages dispatchable distributed energy resources (including curtailment and generation) that are located at customer facilities to reduce the demand on the electric grid on the hottest days of the year. The Operations Senior Specialist will support the execution of the Company's suite of Demand Response programs, with responsibilities ranging across operations, administration, budget control, performance analysis, incentive settlements, and process improvements. This is a great role to demonstrate your ability to drive results, apply cross-disciplinary skills to the clean energy space, and gain firsthand experience with the clean energy transition.
Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Support all aspects of program operations, including customer enrollment processing, settlements processing, customer and vendor communication, data management, and quality control.
- Assist in the continued development of the Demand Response Management System (DRMS), the primary software used to administer DR programs.
- Support program management, including analyzing, monitoring, tracking, and accruing program incentives and software costs.
- Establish processes, policies, and procedures to make the Demand Response programs operate more efficiently.
- Prepare and present information on program status to senior management and other internal and external audiences.
- Coordinate information flow between the Demand Response group and other departments.
- Work with the team to create a best-in-class customer experience for demand response programs.
- Respond to customer inquiries, ensuring exceptional service.
- Manage various administrative and analytical functions in support of the measuring, reporting, and implementation of Demand Response programs to meet the Companys operational and business objectives.
- Commit to the ideals of developing a proactive, customer-centric culture to foster trust and confidence among customers (both internal and external) and improve value for all our stakeholders.
- Participate in the on-call roster during the summer (electric) capability period.
- Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.
Qualifications
Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree and 3 years relevant work experience or
- Master's Degree and 2 years relevant work experience
Preferred Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Science, Information Technology, Environmental Studies, or related field and 3 years relevant work experience
- Master's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Science, Information Technology, Environmental Studies, or related field and 2 years relevant work experience
Relevant Work Experience
- Demonstrated organizational skills, with the ability to work on multiple work streams in parallel and be able to see the big picture while also paying attention to detail, required.
- Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to drive results by collaborating with internal and externals stakeholders, required.
- Ability to make decisions in real-time, under pressure, required.
- Flexibility to deal with ambiguity and comfortable working in a dynamic environment, required.
- Demonstrated service orientated work ethic with experience in managing multiple tasks and changing priorities, required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), required.
- Experience in auditing, project management, or other job function responsible for creating, implementing or interpreting process documents, preferred.
- Experience working with large volumes of data, data management, data cleaning, and quality control, preferred.
- Knowledge or work experience with utility energy efficiency and demand side management programs, preferred.
- Familiarity with demand response and how electricity is distributed to customers, preferred.
- Experience managing vendor, consultant, and contractor activities, preferred.

Additional Physical Demands
- The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
