Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Surgical Unit

Location: Javon Bea Hospital

Shift: 7:00A - 7:30P; Every 3rd Weekend Rotation; Holiday Rotation

Hours: 24 hours per week

Shift Differential: 15% Evening Shift Differential starting at 2:30P (up to $4.50 / hour)

A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on the Ortho Neuro Unit cares for patients in the hospital setting under direction of nursing staff.

Requirements:

• Completion of a CNA program
• Current CNA Certification in applicable state
• Approved CPR/BLS certification within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities:

• Provides patient care within scope of practice, following established standards, shift routines, and policies.
• Responds promptly and appropriately to call lights.
• Accurately documents all care provided.
• Maintains a clean and organized patient and work environment.
• Manages supplies: scanning, stocking, ordering, and disposing of expired/damaged items.
• Floats between units based on patient care needs.
• Participates in unit performance improvement initiatives.
• Assists in training and precepting new team members with educator collaboration.
