Summary:

The Pharmacy Consultant will develop and maintain high-quality, cost-effective integrated pharmacy programs for external clients. The Pharmacy Consultant will exercise management responsibility in order to meet the needs of patients, physicians, and client staff in a manner consistent with contracted statements of work and client expectations. Specific areas of expertise and responsibility are not limited to, but will include: Inpatient care, Outpatient care, Ambulatory care, Infusion Centers, Specialty pharmacy, Retail pharmacies, Pharmacy satellite locations, Shared Services, Supply Chain and Drug Research.

Responsibilities:
The Pharmacy Consultant will work with external clients that UNC has engaged with for consulting services.
The Pharmacy Consultant is responsible for providing their expertise to clients to improve performance initiatives and assure appropriate use of pharmaceuticals.
The position is expected to consistently implement quality initiatives pertaining to the contracted service and ensures enforcement of all applicable policies, standard, and regulations.

Education Requirements:
* Pharmacy degree from an accredited pharmacy school.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
* Eligible for licensure as a Registered Pharmacist in NC. Licensure from NC Board of Pharmacy required within 6 months of orientation date or sooner if required for operations.
Professional Experience Requirements:
* Pharmacist experience in the areas being requested by the client. Proven management skills, including program planning and development, project management, finance, performance, quality and/or human resource management.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
* Demonstrated knowledge and expertise within a specific area of pharmacy practice that is required by clients to achieve and exceed expectations for assigned statements of work.

This position is employed by NC Health (Rex Healthcare, Inc., d/b/a NC Health), a private, fully-owned subsidiary of UNC Health Care System, in a department that provides shared services to operations across UNC Health Care; except that, if you are currently a UNCHCS State employee already working in a designated shared services department, you may remain a UNCHCS State employee if selected for this job.
