Position description

Wilson Lab - Assistant/Associate/Full Professional Research Series

The Wilson Lab is seeking applications for a Professional Researcher at the Assistant, Associate, or Full rank. The Professional Researcher will be leading the laboratory's chemical/radiochemical development program and acquiring funding. You will be expected to obtain all preliminary data needed for extramural grant applications and write/submit full applications as principal investigator or co-principal investigator. As a Wilson Lab member, you will be interfacing extensively with cyclotron personnel as well as regulatory bodies including the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Required Qualications:



  • Appointees in the Professional Research series must possess a doctorate or its equivalent in organic chemistry and/or radiochemistry


Preferred Qualications:



  • The successful applicant will have advanced training in chemistry, radiochemistry, analytic techniques, microbiology and animal models. In addition, experience writing peer-reviewed publications and grant applications
  • The successful applicant will require outstanding communication skills to organize the efforts of junior personnel
  • Experience with the translation of PET radiopharmaceuticals is essential to this role
  • Ability to develop new research directions independently
  • Strong history of scientic collaboration and potential to develop a sustained source of research funding
  • Excellent (high impact) publications in chemistry, radiochemistry, and imaging sciences
  • Principal investigator for a grant
  • Completion of post-doctoral fellowship


See Table 13B for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $93,400-$248,400.
