DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Fiscal Management Specialist 1, you will manage approximately $57 million in Nutritional Service Administration (NSA) funds and approximately $144 million in food funds for participants. You will maintain a working knowledge of all grant mandates and activities, along with federal budget regulations, in order to accurately oversee the distribution of costs between funding sources. You will also evaluate budget requests, make adjustments, prepare recommendations, and review fiscal documents and transactions. This role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to ensure availability of fiscal resources necessary for agency needs. In addition, you will assist with yearly budget and re-budget requests, prepare monthly fiscal projections, and provide technical assistance for audits. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to three days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Financial Programs Trainee (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- One year of experience in paraprofessional fiscal administration work, and a bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, economics, or a related field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
