Department: Staffing Support Services - Float Pool [The Tiger Flex position is a cluster-based role. Each cluster includes multiple units/departments, and Tiger flex RNs are expected to float between all units/departments within their assigned cluster(s)].

Facility: University Hospital - 1 Hospital Drive, Columbia, MO 65212; Missouri Orthopaedic Institute - 1100 Virginia Ave. Columbia, MO 65201; Missouri Psychiatric Center - 3 Hospital Drive, Columbia, MO 65212; Capital Region Medical Center - 1125 Madison Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101 (Tiger Flex Nurses are required to float between Columbia & Jefferson City campuses).
Compensation: Earning potential ranges from $71 to $89 per hour after orientation. Final pay rate depends on shift differentials and unit clusters assigned.

* Base Pay: $56 per hour, flat rate

* Automatic Tiger Flex Differential: $15 per hour, after orientation

* Shift Differentials:

o Additional $2.75 per hour for evening shifts

o Additional $9.00 per hour for night shifts

o Additional $3.00 per hour for weekend shifts

o Additional $12.00 per hour for weekend nights

* Cluster Premiums:

o No differential for working one cluster

o Additional $4.00 per hour for working two clusters

o Additional $5.00 per hour for working three clusters

o Additional $6.00 per hour for working four clusters

o Note: clusters are determined during department interview and based on nursing experience and departmental need.

* Example: A nurse working weekend nights with four clusters could earn up to $89/hour. Actual earnings vary based on assigned clusters and shifts.

* This is a non-benefit eligible role

ABOUT THE JOB

We're looking for nurses to join our Tiger Flex Program-a contract-based nursing program offering the perks of travel nursing without the travel.

This position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status, implement clinical nursing interventions to modify symptoms, and develop and implement patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes and ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.

This position requires the ability to float to designated nursing unit clusters or shifts to meet staffing needs. This position may be required to access and administer medications within their scope of practice and according to state law.

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

* Assess the patient's condition and nursing needs, set goals, and prescribe appropriate nursing actions to meet those goals and the physical, psychological, social, and rehabilitative needs of the patient, including discharge planning.

* Assess, intervene, and reassess the patient's self-report/symptoms of pain promptly. Utilize an appropriate tool for assessment and reassessment.

* Demonstrate an understanding of medications regarding action and side effects. Report pertinent information to the appropriate individual. Educate patients and significant others about their medications.

* Demonstrate the ability to evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions in accomplishing goals and intended patient care outcomes.

* Maintain the standards of nursing care and implement the policies and procedures of the hospital and assigned nursing unit.

* Participate in meetings, in-services, and quality and performance improvement groups.

* Report pertinent observations and reactions regarding patients to the appropriate person (i.e., physicians, head nurse, charge nurse, or nursing supervisor) and record those observations accurately and concisely.

* Provide quality care to patients and work with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the highest patient satisfaction.

* May complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days.

* One (1) year of acute care RN experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. This position is very active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs.

This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Rotating shifts as well as holiday and work during inclement weather will be required.
