Cyber Security Specialist

Location: 100% Onsite - NMC Portsmouth, Portsmouth, VA

LinTech Global Inc. is recruiting for a Cyber Security Specialist to support our contract at the NMCP in Naval Medical Center Portsmouth.

Position Overview:

The Cyber Security Specialist has IT experience with Cyber Security Policy and threat mitigation. You will have IT experience in all aspects of Cyber Security with a vast array of IT systems involving end users as well as enterprise level networks. You must have knowledge and experience in Cyber Security Tools, network topologies, intrusion detection, PKI, and secured networks. You must have knowledge of implementation and security levels and roles necessary for successful deployment. Last, you must possess a high level of expertise in developing long-term strategies and be knowledgeable about various cyber threats and their mitigation.

Job Duties:



  • Responsible for defining, coordinating, monitoring hospital information system security environment, and investigating suspected violations of information security policies.
  • Provide support to client server environment through research, testing, and evaluation of computer security products and procedures to provide a reliable and secure computing environment. Consult with site staff to collect all system-related information necessary to prepare for intrusion detection system installation, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Assess site systems for the appropriate network and operating system software version levels and research and recommend appropriate patch levels as required.
  • Demonstrate the operation and management of the intrusion detection system.
  • Demonstrate the operation and management of the data loss prevention system.
  • Review current and future network security designs and recommend secure configurations to appropriate administrators.
  • Monitor corporate network ingress and egress points for potential intrusions or other unsolicited connection attempts.
  • Assist in the development, periodic review, and implementation of IMD security policies/guidelines /standard as requested by site staff.
  • Design and implement defense-in-depth security procedures that utilize firewalls, host and network-based intrusion detection systems, and other security devices to ensure the highest levels of security are maintained.
  • Determine applicability, system responsibility, and required compliance procedures for DOD IAVA and reports compliance status to command designated reporting agent.
  • Apply oral and written communication skills, and time management and analytical skills in daily duties
  • Process and maintain system access requests from users and ensure compliance with DOD cyber security standards.


Required Qualifications:



  • Strong time management skills

  • Strong multitasking skills
  • Five years of experience with information assurance, engineering, or operational support to the DoD, including supporting information operations, Cyber operations, system administration, and systems security
  • Five years of experience with a DoD certification and accreditation program, including developing or analyzing security test and evaluation reports
  • Experience with evaluating information assurance (IA) compliance of a system against current RMF and DoD Cybersecurity policies
  • Experience in working with the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS)
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations, including DoD 8500.02, DoD 8510, NIST SP 800, 37, NIST SP 800, 53 or 53A, NIST 800 53-r4, NIST SP 800, 30, or CNSSI 1253
  • DoD 8570, DoD 8140.01M IAT Level II certification
