The successful candidate will have the following:

• Strong organizational skills.
• Knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation and arithmetic.
• Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally.
• Computer knowledge and efficiency.
• Ability to type, file and implement record-keeping systems.
• Ability to work independently, following directions with minimum supervision.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and outside contacts.

Shift: Mon- Friday 8 am- 4:30 pm

Merakey is Hiring a Medical Clerk!

Merakey, a leading non-profit provider of developmental and behavioral health services, is seeking mission-driven, compassionate, and reliable individuals to join our team.

This is a clerical position which involves typing, filing, scheduling of medical appointments, record keeping, and data entry. Work is performed under the supervision of the Health Services Supervisor and Assistant Health Services Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

• Schedule medical appointments for individuals.
• Handle daily mail and large mailings.
• Liaison between the Medical Suite and other internal departments as well as external groups, i.e., schools, family, group home, program.
• Maintain office files, manuals, correspondence and memoranda.
• Maintain Medical Department Employee Attendance charts.
• Copy and distribute annual, quarterly, physical exam, etc., nursing schedules.
• Call lab for supply requests and reports.
• Fax physician orders to pharmacy.
• Fax results to various clinics/doctors as needed.
• Enter and update data info on the computer (i.e., consults).
• Orders and maintains supplies at nursing office.
• Answer telephone in Medical Suite.
• Perform other duties as required.
