Job Overview
The incumbent will install, program, service, or repair gas metering systems, water metering systems, and sewer metering systems in residences or commercial establishments. Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision. Interact professionally with other employees, customers, and suppliers. Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations. Work Model: Onsite
Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
- To assist in maintaining surveillance of gas metering, water, and sewer utility systems through the
operation of the Energy Management Control System (EMCS) and to aid in the detection of abnormal conditions in equipment operations or maintenance. - The specialist will determine the exact nature of an alarm either by data analysis and/or on-site
inspection and investigation. - Perform the necessary corrective action or arrange for the appropriate repairs to remedy the gas
metering problems. - Provide recommendations for maintenance, repair, alteration or expansion of the EMCS.
- Aid in measuring and evaluating system performance to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Recommend maintenance when a system cannot be brought close to tolerance by computer
commands. - Assist in diagnosing malfunctions and determining equipment adjustments for proper operations.
- Attend training sessions, and workshops, as directed, to improve EMCS operations.
- Comply with all applicable safety- and health-related rules, regulations, and procedures,
including wearing of Personal Protective equipment (PPE). - Work safely themselves and help their teammates work safely.
- Assist supervisors and managers in identifying and mitigating potentially hazardous
conditions. - Help the organization maintain a safe and healthy workplace.
- All other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
- High school graduate or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in the practical application of utility systems either in operation, maintenance, programming, or repair also required.
- Thoroughly familiar with all facets of utility energy systems that are mechanical, gas metering programming, sewer, and water related.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen in order to obtain required NASA badge.
- Must be able to provide a certified Birth Certificate (with state seal), Passport, or INS Citizenship documents on date of hire (candidate will be sent home if this paperwork is not provided upon arrival on date of hire).
- Must have the ability to communicate the English language, both verbally and written, in an effective manner.
- Must have, and maintain, a valid Real ID driver's license.
- Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment background check and drug screen test.

Working Conditions:
- Physical effort involving able average standing, sitting, walking or detail work.
- Occasional risk of injury due to hazards.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Dexterity to operate office equipment as required by the position.
