Systems Engineer

Do you enjoy solving complex systems challenges while contributing to long-term architectural design? NS2 Mission is seeking a talented Systems Engineer with a strong foundation in systems and cloud architecture to join our team in Chantilly, VA. This role blends hands-on engineering with architectural design, offering the opportunity to both support mission-critical systems today and help shape their long-term scalability, security, and performance. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable troubleshooting complex environments and contributing to high-level architectural decisions.

• Design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure including servers, networks, cloud environments, and applications
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability
• Automate processes and optimize system operations using scripting and configuration management tools
• Maintain system documentation, test plans, and compliance standards
• Collaborate with senior architects to define system architecture and integration strategies
• Contribute to the design of scalable, secure, and efficient system frameworks
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions and system blueprints
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to system design

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, IT operations, and business stakeholders
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
• Support strategic initiatives by aligning system design with organizational goals

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Experience in systems engineering with exposure to systems architecture
• Strong knowledge of operating systems (Linux/Windows), networking, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS)
• Familiarity with architectural frameworks (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect)

• Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP)
• AWS Solutions Architect
• Project Management Professional (PMP)

TS/SCI FSP
