Job Title: Bundler - Cutting Department

Position Overview

The Bundler plays a critical role in the cutting department by organizing, labeling, and preparing cut fabric, leather, and related materials for production. This position ensures that all components for sofas, chairs, and ottomans are accurately grouped and delivered to the appropriate sewing or upholstery workstations. The Bundler helps maintain workflow efficiency, product quality, and inventory accuracy within the plant.

Key Responsibilities

Material Handling & Organization

  • Collect and organize cut parts from cutting tables, CNC cutters, or manual cutting stations.
  • Match cut pieces to production orders, style numbers, and work tickets.
  • Verify that all required components for each unit (sofa, chair, ottoman) are present and correctly labeled.
  • Bundle materials according to established standards, ensuring completeness and accuracy.


Quality & Accuracy

  • Inspect cut parts for defects, miscuts, or inconsistencies before bundling.
  • Confirm fabric/leather patterns, directions, and dye lots match production specifications.
  • Report shortages, defects, or discrepancies to the Cutting Lead or Supervisor.


Labeling & Documentation

  • Attach proper identification tags, tickets, or barcodes to each bundle.
  • Record bundle counts, materials used, and any variances in the production system or on manual logs.
  • Maintain accurate tracking of materials moving from cutting to sewing/upholstery.


Workflow Support

  • Stage completed bundles in designated areas for pickup or delivery to the next department.
  • Assist cutters and markers by keeping work areas organized and materials flowing smoothly.
  • Communicate effectively with sewing, upholstery, and production teams to resolve issues or clarify requirements.


Safety & Housekeeping

  • Follow all plant safety procedures, including proper lifting techniques and equipment use.
  • Keep workstations clean, organized, and free of hazards.
  • Participate in safety training and report unsafe conditions immediately.


Qualifications

Required

  • Ability to read work tickets, production schedules, and labeling systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to lift, move, and handle bundles of fabric or leather (typically 20-50 lbs).
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.


Preferred

  • Experience in upholstery manufacturing, textile handling, or a cutting department environment.
  • Familiarity with fabric types, pattern matching, and upholstery components.
  • Experience with barcode or inventory tracking systems.
