Job Overview
Title: Aerospace Shot Peen Inspector Reports to: Production Supervisor Location: Kent, WA (Onsite) Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt (Hourly) Schedule: 2nd Shift; Training on 1st Hytek production is open 24 hours per day. All shifts are as follows: 1st shift (Monday - Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.), 2nd shift (Monday - Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.), 3rd shift (Sunday - Friday, 10:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.) Job Summary Employees in this position shot peen and glass bead peen parts, including automated, manual and I.D. peening and inspection in preparation for plating and other coatings. The individual in this role will be considered a trainee and are required to pass a written and practical examination for certification and an initial and annual Industrial Eye Exam in order to process work independently in the department. On the job training is provided and trainees are given ample time to prepare for certification exams. Shot Peen Inspectors are required to join the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program*. The Shot Peen Inspectors perform operations in accordance with Military, Industry and OEM specifications. * FAA DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program requires an initial pre-employment drug test including a screen for THC, subject to quarterly Drug & BAT testing. Essential Mental/Physical Demands
Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and fumes from metal finishing chemicals. Temperatures in the work environment can fluctuate with outside weather conditions. Due to the manufacturing environment, Personal Protection Equipment is required including safety glasses, goggles, aprons, rubber boots, gloves, and respirator (provided by Company).
