As a Mechanical Program Manager at JLL, you will lead transformative mechanical engineering initiatives that drive operational excellence across critical data center and facility environments. This strategic role combines advanced mechanical engineering expertise with comprehensive program management responsibilities, positioning you to shape the future of mission-critical infrastructure operations.

You'll oversee complex mechanical systems including HVAC, cooling infrastructure, and environmental controls while managing cross-functional teams and large-scale infrastructure projects. What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Lead comprehensive oversight of critical mechanical systems including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure specific to high-performance data center operations

  • Develop and implement strategic cooling solutions optimized for high-density server environments using advanced mechanical engineering principles

  • Manage complex data center infrastructure projects including system expansions, upgrades, and integration of cutting-edge mechanical technologies

  • Conduct regular performance analyses of facility mechanical and electrical systems, implementing optimization strategies that reduce Power Usage Effectiveness

  • Mentor and guide cross-functional teams of facility technicians and engineers, fostering technical excellence and professional development

  • Execute comprehensive preventive maintenance programs for all critical infrastructure while leading root cause analysis for system failures or inefficiencies

  • Collaborate with equipment vendors and service providers to ensure optimal system performance and implement innovative mechanical solutions

  • Evaluate and integrate sustainable green technologies suitable for data center operations while ensuring compliance with industry standards

  • Communicate effectively with executive management on infrastructure status, improvement plans, and strategic mechanical engineering initiatives

Required qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years of technical experience in building engineering with strong background in HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and production equipment maintenance

  • Proven experience working in data centers or raised floor environments with understanding of critical facility operations and requirements

  • Current Universal EPA 608 Certification demonstrating expertise in refrigeration systems and environmental compliance

  • Hands-on experience with CRAC system maintenance and repair, with Liebert equipment experience strongly preferred

  • Completion of 2 years of trades school or documented apprenticeship program in relevant mechanical craft skills

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills for managing stakeholder relationships and team collaboration

  • Working knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation and reporting

  • Physical capability to lift up to 80 pounds, work at heights up to 30 feet, and operate in extreme temperature conditions

  • Availability for emergency call-in work and flexibility to perform varied duties as operational needs require

Preferred qualifications:

  • Specialized expertise in one specific craft area such as Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, Central Utility Plant Operations, or Material Handling Equipment

  • Comprehensive knowledge of building automation systems and their integration with critical mechanical infrastructure

  • Experience with fire and life safety systems and their coordination with mechanical equipment operations

  • Advanced certifications or licenses as required by local authority having jurisdiction for mechanical systems operations

  • Proven track record in program management with experience leading complex infrastructure projects from conception to completion

  • Background in energy management systems and successful implementation of sustainability initiatives that reduce environmental impact
