This role offers the perfect blend of technical expertise and strategic thinking, allowing you to shape the future of liquid cooling operations while advancing sustainable water management practices in critical facility environments.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Apply advanced mechanical engineering principles to design and optimize water distribution systems for high-density server environments including CDU sizing and thermal load management

  • Oversee comprehensive water distribution infrastructure including cooling distribution units, pumps, heat exchangers, and piping systems to maintain optimal cooling performance

  • Develop and execute sophisticated water treatment programs including chemical management, pH control, conductivity monitoring, and microbial content testing

  • Conduct regular performance analyses of water cooling systems while monitoring and optimizing flow rates, temperatures, and pressure differentials across rack installations

  • Lead preventive maintenance programs for water systems including filtration schedules, chemical dosing protocols, and comprehensive equipment servicing

  • Implement water system efficiency initiatives designed to reduce Power Usage Effectiveness while analyzing thermal performance data for high-density rack environments

  • Ensure strict adherence to water system standards and environmental regulations while overseeing safety protocols including spill containment and leak detection procedures

  • Mentor and guide facility technicians and engineers on advanced water system operations, chemistry principles, and emergency response procedures

  • Lead emergency response coordination for water-related incidents including system failures, contamination events, and critical cooling system malfunctions

Required qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of technical experience in water treatment, mechanical systems, or critical facility operations with proven expertise in fluid management

  • Advanced knowledge of water chemistry principles, chemical treatment protocols, and comprehensive fluid analysis procedures

  • Hands-on experience with liquid cooling systems, cooling distribution units, and thermal management technologies in data center environments

  • Strong analytical capabilities for water system performance optimization, troubleshooting complex issues, and implementing effective solutions

  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and executing preventive maintenance programs for sophisticated water and cooling infrastructure

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for creating technical documentation, training programs, and stakeholder reporting

  • Working knowledge of computer applications including data analysis software and computerized maintenance management systems

  • Physical capability to lift up to 80 pounds, work at heights and in confined spaces, and operate in wet environments with chemical exposure

  • Availability for emergency call-in work and flexibility to perform duties across multiple shifts as operational needs require

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in fluid systems, thermal management, or related technical discipline

  • Professional certifications in water treatment such as Certified Water Technologist (CWT) or Water Quality Association credentials

  • Experience with building automation systems and advanced water monitoring technologies for large-scale facility management

  • Specialized expertise in energy efficiency optimization and successful implementation of sustainability initiatives for water systems

  • Comprehensive knowledge of environmental compliance requirements and chemical safety regulations for industrial water treatment
