DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Medical Records Examiner, you will review and evaluate clinical and fiscal records to assess the compliance of nursing facilities with the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (OBRA), Minimum Data Set (MDS), and federal and state regulations. You will routinely complete PA Pre-Admission Screening Resident Reviews (PASRR) and reconcile the nursing facility Case Mix Index (CMI) report. You will work both independently and in team settings to compile summaries and conduct entrance and exit interviews. This role requires strong analytical skills to compile information nursing facilities will use to formulate corrective action plans, as well as a genuine desire to ensure long-term care facilities provide appropriate medical, social, physical, rehabilitative, and restorative care services. In addition, you will help nursing facility staff achieve compliance by providing technical assistance and participate in the development of medical assistance policies and regulations. - Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Home Headquartered: This position is home headquartered. In order to be home headquartered, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of professional experience in the field of medical assistance, health care services, or human services; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
- You must possess active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
- All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
- You must be in possession of an active motor vehicle license.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
