SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES:

The post-closing specialist will be responsible for tracking all closed mortgage loans from disbursement through shipping the loan to the designated investor. This includes perfecting the loan for deficiencies and corrections to the servicing system. Ensures compliance with SouthState Bank Corporate Code of Conduct and Ethics and other operating procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Check in all executed closed loan packages in a timely manner from the settlement agent and follow up on closed loan packages not received.

- To become familiar with all aspects of shipping and delivering loans into the secondary market. Responsible for timely and successful delivery of loans to agencies and third-party investors within delivery expirations and working on a first-in-first-out perspective.

-Follow up on internal post-closing deficiencies and obtain the appropriate documentation to correct the deficiency so the loan can be committed for sale.

-Monitor delivered service released loans and collaborate with internal partners to obtain, review, and submit supporting documentation to the investor so the loan can be purchased.

- In addition, to the other duties above this person would also overflow to assist with the audit of loans when time permits.

- Maintains accurate tracking and reporting; provides pertinent information on a timely basis; consistently completes all tasks according to policy/procedure and standard; maintains sense of urgency and understanding of the importance in meeting deadlines. A high accuracy level is critical in this position.

  • Communication - Ability to work effectively with both internal and external clients by phone and/ or email. Communicate clearly and concisely with appropriate partners regarding resolution of conditions.

  • Flexibility: Ability to organize and plan work effectively with little supervision. Ability to keep up on procedural aspects of the job. The ideal candidate must be a collaborator, customer-oriented, flexible and have a cheerful outlook.
  • Additional requirements include strong computer skills, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple functions simultaneously and accurate record keeping.

Qualifications, Education, and Certification Requirements

  • Education: High School diploma.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Mortgage Loan documentation and understanding of basic mortgage stages preferred.

  • Preferred experience with Encompass but not required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time. Must be able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, and reports.
