What to Expect
Tesla's Factory Field Quality team serves as a critical bridge between Quality Engineering/Factory teams, the "field" (sales, service, delivery locations), and partner Engineering teams across the business. Accurate data is the key to solving the right customer concerns as quickly as possible, and theQuality Engineering Technicianplays a vital role in delivering thatdataaccuracy whilealsoinvestigatingnew quality issueson site at service centers. Thisfield-basedrole will serve three criticalobjectives: (1) Clean/analyze/consolidate incoming service data to prioritize top customer concerns for factory quality engineering to resolve. (2)Investigate new quality issues in the field byworking side byside with service technicians at the service center todetermineinitial root causes. (3)Projectmanage quality engineer investigation requestssuch asretrievingparts for failure analysis andmonitoringnew vehicles at delivery sites. The successful candidate must have the ability to meet tight deadlines, have strong interpersonal and communication skills, bedetail oriented, andhave the ability towork independently. The candidate mustestablishand maintain a professional working relationship with field personnel, Quality Engineers, and Engineering teams. For Florida, we are open to Tampa-St Petersburg, Orlando, or Miami-Ft Lauderdale areas.We are also open to most other Tesla locations in the Chicago area.
What You'll Do
- Analyze service technician repair notes, tags, and images for top customer concerns across all vehicle models
- Investigatenew issuesat the service centers byobservingvehicle repairs first-hand and conducting engineering studies
- Project manage service improvement requestsand internal continuous improvement projects
- Work with other field-based engineering technicians toidentifytrends, provide repair procedure feedback to service teams, and develop better on-site monitoring
- Summarize new top concerns for engineering teams to prioritize solutions
- Assess accuracy of write-ups and dashboard systems; provide weekly summaries to team project manager to drive improvements with write-ups and automated data systems
What You'll Bring
- Proventrack recordas a fast-moving problem solver capable of delivering concise, actionable feedback
- 3 - 5 years' experience in manufacturing, automotive, or hands-on technical role or in data analysis; or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business Analytics, or related technical fields, or equivalent experience
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, anddisseminatesignificant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- A passion and curiosity for exploring data relations to real-world processes; eager to perform hands-on engineering studies; must be comfortable working on multiple projects simultaneously with the ability to interact with multiple teams
- Strong communicationskills and able to build relationships quickly; can tailor communication between non-technical and technical audiences
- Must have command of English Language, both written and verbal
- Fluent in MS Office Suite; experience with Tableau, SQL, JIRA, or similar software is a plus
