The Manager, New Gas Generation is responsible for the overall engineering and related execution for construction of a new gas generation energy centers for Ameren MO. This role includes providing leadership for, and training and development of Engineers and personnel. Oversight with project development in association with company policies and standards and operating budget responsibilities.

Further, the Manager, New Gas Generation must:

  • Inspire and engage the team in such a manner that each co-worker understands how they contribute to the project;
  • Exhibit the ability to deliver results, think-customer, champion learning, and collaborate to deliver a successful project, on time, on budget and executed safely;
  • Identify strengths and development opportunities for self and other team members; and
  • Serve as an advocate for an accountable, safe work culture.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead a team of professional/technical staff and directs all phases of the new gas generation project; provide feedback and performance assessments to appropriate management in a timely manner and resolve conflict among project team members.
  • Plan, schedule, prioritize, and coordinate activities to assure that assignments are completed, and re-forecasted, as applicable, relative to time schedule, available man-hours, and costs.
  • Interface with vendors, contractors, suppliers, general public, governmental and regulatory agencies, as well as other groups with the Company.
  • Participate on and interface with Ameren teams, as required.
  • Represent the Company and provide expert testimony, as required.
  • Keep abreast of state-of-the-art developments and improvements, contribute to the personal and professional development needs of the Engineers within the team.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university is required. Electrical or Mechanical Engineering discipline is preferred. Masters Degree preferred. A Missouri Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred. Five or more years of plant and design engineering or related engineering experience is required. Five or more years of generation construction and commissioning experience is preferred.

Essential Functions

Time spent on site during construction and start-up will be required. This will include exposure to heat and cold temperatures, vicinity to high energy equipment (electrical, controlled combustion, etc), dust, safe use of electrical / other PPE, and climbing of ladders and steps. Employing safe work practices at all times is a must.

Travel to and from outside engineer, vendor, and contractor offices will be required (including overnight and international travel at times) for design reviews, factory acceptance test witnessing, and engineering quality inspections.

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

Excellent leadership, management, analytical, communication, flexibility and human relations skills (required).

Ameren's selection process includes a series of interviews and may include candidate testing and/or an individual aptitude or skill-based assessment. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates.

Compensation Range:

$131,900.00 - $204,400.00

At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
