Pay Grade 11* Deadline to Apply: January 12, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. CST qualifications may warrant placement at a different job level Position Summary Performs the installation, programming, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing of electronic security equipment. Completes work in accordance with the relevant codes and NERC regulations. Maintains technical expertise in dealing with access control systems, CCTV systems, electronic security equipment, security alarms, etc. Tasks and Responsibilities Installs, monitors, maintains and repairs surveillance equipment designed to safeguard and protect cyber-sensitive assets and for controlling access to such equipment. Performs recordkeeping as required by North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Protocols. Examines security and access control systems to locate, identify and repair problems. Tests backup features, programming and other electronic security measures and countermeasures to ensure proper functioning and to diagnose malfunctions. Installs security panels, alarm sensors, video mounted cameras and covert cameras. Installs, maintains or repairs security systems, alarm devices and related equipment, following blueprints of electrical layouts and building plans. Assists other trades personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities (i.e. coordination with electricians, locksmith, carpenters, overseeing jobs to completion). Responds to emergency situations during or after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety/security concerns. Attends meetings, workshops, training, and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job. Performs other duties as assigned. Attend training for the particular systems in place, receive certifications from the training for position progression. Minimum Skills Minimum Knowledge and Abilities Ability to select the proper type of cable and perform installation in plenum or non-plenum rated environments. Basic knowledge with local, state, and federal codes as they apply to security and life safety equipment. Intermediate knowledge of computer, networks, and information technology related systems. Possess a valid driver's license with a history of a safe driving record in accordance with CPSE policies, procedures, safety standards, and applicable laws and regulations Must possess required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed. Preferred Qualifications Associates degree in Computer Science, Security or other related field Competencies Working Safely Delivering High Quality Work Displaying Technical Expertise Learning Quickly Driving for Results Adapting to Others Minimum Education High School Diploma or GED Required Certifications Working Environment Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, in all kinds of environments, working at heights in all kinds of weather and temperatures. Must be able to operate computer equipment, must have manual dexterity, the ability to hear and speak the English language. After hours work and overtime may be required. Call duty is required to respond to security equipment issues and repairs. Physical Demands Exerting up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Requires the ability to climb stairs, bend and walk over rough terrain and the ability to stand for long periods of time. The ability to discern different colors.
