THE POSITION

The Department of Transportation is actively looking to fill a Management Analyst 2 position located in Dauphin County. This pivotal role functions as a Reports Manager within the Data Services Section of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's Driver and Vehicle Services Program Management Office. In this capacity, the selected candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing the generation and management of reports that are essential for the effective operation of the DVS program. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will engage in intricate analyses to support the creation of technical documents and reports pertaining to production driver license and motor vehicle information technology systems, along with other associated systems. The Reports Manager plays a crucial role in assessing business requirements, crafting appropriate reporting tools tailored to the affected business areas, and providing guidance on potential enhancements to existing processes. Utilizing strong problem-solving abilities, the incumbent collaborates with various business units to propose improvements that can streamline operations and enhance efficiency by effectively capturing pertinent data and equipping operational managers and executive personnel with essential reporting tools. Additionally, the incumbent serves as a work leader, offering general assistance to the DVS Help Desk, thereby ensuring that support functions are executed smoothly and effectively.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • May be required to work when a full-day and/or partial-day office closing is authorized. To include but not limited to: early dismissals for inclement weather; the day before holidays; special holiday closings.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time upon completion of 30 days in the position. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a Management Analyst 1; or
  • Two years of experience in technical management analysis work, and a bachelor's degree; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
