Responsibilities

Licensed Therapist Part-Time

The Therapist provides individual, family, group therapy, and case management services on acute and residential units under direction of the Director of Clinical Services. Assigned cases may vary somewhat depending on experience and specialty areas. Must hold a current Alabama State License. Ability to establish rapport with interdisciplinary team and assist patient to work toward recovery and to sustain health. Experience on an in-patient psychiatric unit or residential program. Demonstrate knowledge of normal growth and development of the population served.

MUST HAVE availability to attend an 8- business day Orientation from 8a-4p without interruptions.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities

Obtains and assess social history information and report to the treatment team within program specific time frames.

Initiates and completes new admissions process, discharge process, and aftercare planning.

Provide and document discharge planning as directed by the Psychiatrist from day of admission.

4.

Provide and promptly document individual, family, and group therapy through use of social work and/or counseling knowledge and skills.

Maintain professional and clinical credentials consistent with duties.

6.

Contribute to overall treatment team process by assisting in developing plans of care, formulating and reviewing plans and attending treatment team meetings and providing input as assigned.

8.

Act as liaison for patients to various community agencies and resources. Collaborates with family members and referral sources throughout treatment.

9.

Function as liaison and support for patient's family during hospitalization.

10.

Respond to and handle crisis situations under direction of MD or Charge Nurse.

11.

Consistently demonstrate competence in day-to-day scheduling of duties by completing tasks on time with little from others as assigned.

12.

Facilitate therapeutic milieu on units assigned.

13.

Responsible for the safety and security of medical records of all patients on the unit.

14.

Coordinates an documents referrals and discharge planning.

15.

Attends all mandatory Program Staff meetings and Director of Clinical Services mandated meetings.

16.

Attends off-campus outings with residential program, if assigned.

5%

17.

Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position.
