As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Collaborate with administrative and business leaders, clinicians and IT specialists

  • Query large datasets from multiple systems

  • Build machine learning and AI solutions and deploy them to production

  • Design and implementation of pilots for validation and optimization of models

  • Produce technical documentation, visualizations and presentations

  • Lead projects with multiple work streams or complex tasks

  • Project management for complex tasks

  • Complete individual or collaborative projects independently

  • Provide key subject matter expertise and leadership in applying data science and AI technologies for business, administrative, and clinical decision support

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to more junior staff

  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

  • PhD degree in computer science, engineering, statistics, mathematics, physics, or fields related to data science with 0+ years of experience as a data scientist, Master's degree with 3+ years of experience; or Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience

    Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with a health care environment and EHR data

  • Experienced using time series analysis to model temporal data to solve complex problems

  • Proficient designing, training, testing, deploying, and monitoring machine learning models to solve a wide array of problems

  • Experienced using linear regression, boosted trees, deep learning and other techniques as needed to build models that support daily operations

  • Experienced using LLMs and agentic frameworks to create production-level applications

  • Cloud services platforms like Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure

  • Awareness of the most recent trends and developments in the Data Science and Machine Learning field

  • Data expert with measurable track record within industry or academic environment, developing and successfully implementing statistical and machine learning models for classification, regression and clustering

  • Experience with relational databases and SQL queries.

  • Skilled in Python and well-versed in its machine learning libraries, such as pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangChain, and more.

  • Solid experience in machine learning techniques: linear regression, boosted trees, clustering, and deep learning (CNNs, RNNs, Transformers, Large Language Models, embeddings)

  • Proficient in implementing the machine learning lifecycle, including feature selection, model training, validation, testing, deployment, and ongoing monitoring.

  • Advanced knowledge of probability, statistics, and scientific computing

  • Ability to work independently and use creative approaches to problem-solving

  • Capable of turning questions into testable hypotheses, extracting data from complex databases, creating, and evaluating statistical models

  • Ability to turn users' requirements into a production-level applications

  • Experience in data visualization and ability to communicate results to a non-technical audience

  • Experience in completing end-to-end projects with minimal to no supervision

  • Experience in being a part of big projects with many internal and external teams involved

  • Experience managing collaborative data science projects

  • Experience mentoring or leading teams of data scientists

  • Track record of academic publications, or extensive experience in developing and implementing production-grade models.
