EDUCATIONAL RECOMMENDATIONS

Currently a candidate for a PhD in Electrical engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field with an accredited school in the USA.

You will join our research team to contribute to high-quality foundational studies and support the translation of research insights into practical solutions used across diverse Nokia applications. Throughout the internship, you will engage in exploratory work, collaborate with experienced researchers, and participate in research exploring the opportunities and limitations of using learning techniques in communication applications.

As an intern, you will be expected to:

  • Work with a mentor or mentors to solve a research problem
  • Meet regularly with your mentor to review progress and work on the problem.
  • Digest research literature, and relate it to the problem at hand.
  • Carry out a thorough, detailed results or simulation-based experiments
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Clear written and spoken communication skills
  • Ability to carry out self-directed research

It is very useful to have a good background in

  • Wireless communication theory
  • Convex optimization and related topics
  • High-level programming languages (Python and/or MATLAB)
  • Modern machine learning methods
  • Machine learning packages (Pytorch, TensorFlow, etc.)
  • Published research in scientific conferences or journals
