About this opportunity:
Ericsson is looking for a highly skilled Inbuilding Senior Optimization Engineer to join our In-Building Engineering Services team, dedicated to driving quality, innovation, and exceptional customer experiences. This team focuses on RF design and optimization for enterprise and venue deployments, including high-profile special events and major customer projects such as FIFA 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for engineers passionate about solving complex RF challenges and delivering high-performing intelligent networks.
This on-site role is located in Plano, TX, with travel as required, approximately 50% during specific events and 10-15% otherwise.

What you will do:
- Drive real-time optimization and ensure peak network performance for indoor, stadium, and temporary outdoor deployments (COWs, small cells), managing end-to-end deployment and optimization projects across venues like offices, hospitals, warehouses, factories, and stadiums.
- Demonstrate deep expertise in Active and Passive DAS solutions and OEM small cells (Commscope, JMA, Corning, etc.), including commissioning and optimization requirements for Active DAS.
- Display advanced knowledge of Ericsson indoor products and architectures (ENM, Baseband, Radios, LPRU, Radio DOT) and act as the primary technical escalation point for complex issues.
- Apply strong LTE and NR (NSA & SA) design and layer-management knowledge, including throughput, SINR, traffic balancing, network parameters and performance metrics.
- Perform detailed RF walk-test analysis and KPI-driven deep dives to identify and resolve performance issues, providing actionable recommendations and parameter modifications.
- Utilize industry tools for design, planning and analysis-Ericsson Planning and Performance (EPP), iBwave, TEMS-for efficient network modeling, data collection and optimization.
- Serve as the primary customer point of contact for assigned markets/regions, consulting closely with stakeholders to define scope, manage requirements and align on deliverables and timelines.
- Lead and coordinate remote engineering teams to ensure project execution, stakeholder satisfaction and timely resolution of technical challenges.
- Communicate clearly with customers, managing expectations and delivering results while providing top-tier technical support and expert guidance.
The skills you bring:
- 6-8 years of professional RF engineering experience, with at least 3 years specifically focused on in-building and special event (e.g., stadium/COW) deployments and optimization.
- Proficient in iBwave with relevant project experience or a minimum iBwave Level 2 certification.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (BSEE/BSCS); Master's (MSEE/MSCS) preferred.
- Advanced technical knowledge of wireless network technologies, radio systems, and in-building products (Active/Passive DAS, small cells, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience analyzing complex datasets and RF walk-test/KPI data to drive optimization.
- Excellent communication and customer engagement skills to define requirements, manage expectations, and present technical recommendations.

Your Pay
The salary range for this position is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
Short-Term Variable Compensation Plan: Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit's objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.

Your Financial Security
We invest in both your short and long-term financial wellbeing. The Ericsson US 401(k) Plan offers an automatic 3% company contribution and Ericsson matches $1 for every $1 you put into the 401(k) Plan on the first 3% of your eligible pay, plus 50 cents on every $1 on the next 2% of eligible pay. When you contribute at least 5% of eligible pay, you are receiving Ericsson's full matching contributions. Matching and company automatic contributions stop when your total eligible pay for the year reaches the IRS limits. Your Time
Your work-life balance is important to us. New employees are provided a minimum of 15 days of accrued vacation, up to 3 personal days per year, 11 annual holidays, 8 hours of volunteer time, and 80 hours of sick time annually. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee's start date. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 16 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
