Job Summary

The Commercial HVAC Service Tech II performs intermediate-level commercial HVAC troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance for a variety of commercial and industrial customers. This role works independently on routine service tasks while supporting and learning from senior technicians on more complex systems. Strong communication, professionalism, and the ability to deliver excellent service to our Partners and customers are essential.


Essential Duties

  • Perform basic to moderately complex troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of commercial HVAC systems.

  • Execute preventative maintenance tasks, inspections, and equipment performance evaluations.

  • Assist senior HVAC Partners with advanced repairs and system diagnostics as needed.

  • Document service findings, recommendations, parts used, and follow-up actions in work order systems.

  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding service issues, recommended repairs, and equipment status.

  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company, industry, and OSHA guidelines.

  • Maintain company tools, equipment, and service vehicle in a clean and professional condition.

  • Participate in training and development activities to advance technical capabilities.

  • After completing training and demonstrating competency, participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed.

  • Flexibility to work overtime or after-hours based on customer needs and service demand.


Minimum Requirements

  • 2+ years of HVAC service experience (commercial preferred).
  • Strong understanding of basic HVAC principles including refrigeration cycles, electrical fundamentals, and airflow.
  • Ability to perform basic commercial HVAC troubleshooting and repairs with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team setting.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and internal teams.
  • EPA Universal or Type II certification preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment or materials up to 50 lbs., and work from ladders, scaffolds, and tight spaces as required.
Work Schedule
  • Regular daytime schedule during initial training period.

  • After training and skill verification, role includes overtime, after-hours work, and participation in the on-call rotation.

Customer Base
  • Broad range of commercial and industrial customers across the Waco region.

  • No residential service work.
