Sonographer Specialty Job Responsibilities:
- The Specialty Sonographer administers sound patient care practices according to hospital and department policies/procedures to ensure the safety of patients.
- Completes ancillary tasks to ensure efficient and consistent departmental operations.
- Demonstrates safety for patients, staff, and self as outlined in department protocols and regulatory guidelines.
- Maintains equipment, exam rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition.
- Provides clinical services according to specialized ultrasound practice standards and acts as a resource to students, nurses, fellows, and other technologists to ensure optimal department functions.
- Assists physicians in performing TEE, Fetal Echoes, and AV optimization studies by using departmental protocols to provide optimum results.
- May perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
- License: American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) with at least two sonographer specialties (i.e. OB/GYN, Breast, AB).
- Certification: Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association required upon start
- Experience: One year of experience in a hospital/healthcare environment in the performance of Specialized Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
