The Engineering Technician II supports design, manufacturing, and testing activities with a strong emphasis on electrical and electromechanical systems. This role applies advanced technical skills to develop test fixtures, troubleshoot electrical and software issues, and ensure compliance with quality standards. Working under minimal supervision, the technician collaborates with engineers to translate concepts into reliable prototypes, optimize test methods, and drive process improvements.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, electromechanical, and software-related production issues.
  • Design, fabricate, and qualify electrical test fixtures and prototypes using in-house resources or external vendors.
  • Debug and optimize automated test routines and assembly test fixtures for accurate device validation.
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop and implement electrical test methods and protocols.
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Calibration (CAL) on electrical and production equipment internally and at contract manufacturers.
  • Initiate and manage engineering change requests (ECOs) related to electrical design and test methods.
  • Maintain compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) by creating and updating SOPs and work instructions.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and recommend improvements in electrical processes.
  • Participate in projects aimed at improving product reliability, increasing capacity, and reducing scrap and throughput time.
  • Mentor junior technicians on electrical troubleshooting and best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

Minimum

  • 2-year technical degree in electronics, electrical engineering technology, or equivalent; or H.S. diploma plus 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in electrical troubleshooting within a manufacturing or lab environment.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with programming or scripting languages (LabVIEW, C++, Python, PLC).
  • Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience in a regulated industry (medical device, aerospace, automotive).
  • ERP system experience (SAP preferred).
  • Certified LabVIEW Developer (CLD) or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) and basic electrical design tools.
  • Experience with metrology tools and GD&T principles.

Compensation & Total Rewards:

Estimated Starting Hourly Rate Range: $30.00 - $34.00

*Estimated Starting Hourly Rate Range is reflective of the range Bracco Medical Technologies reasonably expects to pay for the position. The range provided is based on salary and market data specific to the position.
