IT Support Technician II

Velosity Forest Lake is searching for an IT Support Technician II to support our manufacturing facility in Forest Lake, MN. The IT Support Technician II is responsible for assisting our employees with hardware & software support and service requests. You will have exposure to a variety of different technologies and have a great opportunity to gain valuable experience and knowledge that will benefit you with your career in IT.

This is an on-site position.

The typical pay range for this role: $27.00 - $30.00. This role is also eligible for our 5% quarterly bonus target.

This pay range reflects the base hourly rate or annual salary for positions within this job grade, based on our market-based pay structures. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as skills, relevant experience, education, internal equity, business needs, and local market conditions. While the full range is shared for transparency, offers are rarely made at the minimum or maximum of the range.

Essential Duties:

• Provide support for workstations and laptops, such as installing replacement hardware, upgrading hardware, installing new software and upgrading current software.
• Provide support for printers, copiers, phones, scanners, A/V equipment, and other PC peripherals.
• Work cooperatively with all employees at multiple sites
• Respond to IT related inquiries, requests and incidents in a timely and professional manner.
• Provide first line response for users requiring assistance with information technology issues and problems. And escalate more involved issues to the appropriate IT personnel.
• Document all support issues, resolutions and time in the company ticketing system as they occur. And communicate the findings with relevant stakeholders.
• Participate in the implementation of new IT directives and projects as determined by the IT Manager.
• Continually improve documentation with best standards, policies and practices for the company.
• Follow the required approval processes related to the access and distribution of information.

Qualifications:

• Preferred Associates degree in related field or equivalent experience.
• Valid identification and the ability to work legally in the United States.
• General experience with PCs and networks.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including presentation skills; effective business correspondence and documentation.
• General working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Windows operating systems, networking and DNS.
• Ability to follow directions and accurately complete assigned tasks. To be able to perform daily tasks safely. A willingness to learn and be able to work independently with limited supervision.

Physical & Mental Demands:

• Walking and stair climbing is required within the office/shop areas. Sitting, kneeling, standing, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, and fingers are physical requirements. Must have correctable eyesight and good depth perception. Must be able to walk, sit and occasionally climb and balance. Lifting 35 lbs using both hands.

Work Environment:

This is a non-smoking, professional manufacturing shop with normal lighting and climate control. This position may require one to move throughout the shop and office and may be subject to airborne contaminants and chemical odors as would be customary in an injection molding/ Precision Machining shop.

Protective Clothing Required:

When in certain locations of the facility, eye and ear protection are required. Closed-toed/ Slip resistant shoes are also required in certain locations.
