Position Title: Forming Operator
Wage: $22.50/hour (increasing to $25/hr. after training and on 2nd shift) Shift: 2nd (Training is 4-6 months on 1st shift) Hours: 2:15pm-12:45am (1st shift 6am-4:30pm) QPS Employment Group is hiring a Forming Operator for a company in Richmond, IL. This is a direct hire opportunity. Forming Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Operate forming machines (cold heading, hot forming, or similar) following established procedures - Set up and adjust machines for proper tooling, alignment, and production output - Inspect parts during and after production using precision measuring tools and visual checks - Monitor and maintain machine operation to prevent downtime - Record accurate production and inspection data - Perform routine maintenance and maintain a clean, organized work area - Partner with Quality and Maintenance teams to address process or equipment issues - Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a safe workplace Forming Operator Requirements: - High school diploma or GED - Previous experience in manufacturing or production - Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability - Ability to read part drawings and production specifications - Skilled in using micrometers, calipers, and other precision tools - High attention to detail with consistent accuracy - Basic troubleshooting and machine adjustment capabilities - Strong communication and teamwork skills - Ability to work in a fast-paced, physical environment (lift up to 40 pounds, stand for extended periods) - Ability to work the required shift and overtime as needed - Basic math and reading skills - Preferred experience with forming equipment such as cold headers or hot formers - Preferred familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement practices - Preferred prior experience in metal forming or automotive manufacturing QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
