Job Summary GateWay Community College is now hiring for an exciting role! The Services Specialist Senior position performs advanced enrollment services functions, providing student support in the areas of admissions, records, and registration. The person in this role will serve a broad range of students, staff, faculty, and community members across all areas of enrollment services. The Student Services Specialist Senior coordinates office workflow and provides training to other staff members. Essential Functions 30% - Serves as the primary contact for students regarding graduation and ongoing support for student success; provides support for online chat, phones, emails, etc.; evaluates student records to determine eligibility for graduation based on institutional and program-specific requirements; processes and tracks graduation applications and ensures the timely and accurate awarding of degrees and certificates. 30% - Serves as the technical expert for graduation evaluation; maintains internal spreadsheets, databases, and reports for organization and data tracking; uses the Student Information System for a variety of tasks, including running degree progress reports, establishing graduation status, and awarding; oversees the diploma printing and mailing process, maintaining accountability for quality control and delivery standards; evaluates transcripts and records them in the Student Information System. 20% - Supports the Admissions, Records, and Registration department by assisting with project deadlines and department goals, as well as providing a high level of customer service to students, faculty, and staff (via phone, chat, email, and in-person) provides assistance in other student services areas as needed; works collaboratively with other departments and serves on a variety of committees. 10% - Provides training and presentations on the graduation process as well as other Admissions, Records, and Registration policies and procedures; delegates routine or project-based tasks as appropriate; serves as a point of contact for technical guidance; completes other duties as assigned. 10% - Evaluates and posts college transcripts, credit by exam/evaluation (PLA), corrects degree audit issues, and troubleshoots related technical errors in supporting software programs; other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two (2) years of student services or college teaching experience or experience assisting with educational program development and coordination, student advisement, financial aid, or related student development programs. OR An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered. Desired Qualifications A. Two (2) or more years of experience working in an Admissions, Records, and Registration office at a postsecondary educational institution B. Two (2) years of experience creating, maintaining and/or editing Microsoft Excel Spreadsheets, Google Sheets and/or other databases C. One (1) or more years' experience compiling data and providing reports D. One (1) or more years of experience working with state or federal regulations as it relates to student services in a higher education setting E. Two (2) or more years of experience working with graduation requirements, either directly through the graduation process or through degree progress advisement/evaluation or similar F. One (1) year of experience providing training and/or overseeing the work of others Special Working Conditions
