Job Summary

The Inventory Control Coordinator will primarily be responsible for inventory control and coordination with branch team members and management, including cycle counting, location maintenance, trackers, and returns of all return types. This role may further guide the day-to-day warehouse and inventory-related activities including receiving and shipping by monitoring the In Process Queues to keep current.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities



  • Manage the cycle counting program. Must be highly accurate in all aspects of the cycle counting and serve as a resource for other warehouse associates in executing cycle counts as needed.
  • Respond to and complete inventory trackers in a timely manner.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies to move stock or reorganize storage.
  • Monitor equipment maintenance and housekeeping. Understand best practices and proper procedures, ensuring a safe warehousing environment while engaged in any of these processes.
  • Accurate utilization of Location Maintenance, Inventory Adjustment Entry and Cycle Counting and follow all Irby protocols Return Goods Queue processing of all returns to Irby vendors, customers and other branches. Handle all return types (Review, Defective and Over ship and process each type as required per Irby Standard Procedures.
  • Be courteous in all contact with company customers.
  • Guide other warehouse associates in executing inventory-specific processes as needed.



Minimum Qualifications



  • Knowledge of safety practices.
  • Ability to lift heavy packages and objects.
  • Skill in operating forklift or other materials handling equipment.
  • Skill in operating large vehicles in tight and congested areas.
  • Knowledge of automated or computerized system operation.
  • Ability to effectively communicate.
  • Customer focused and team oriented.


  • Frequent required standing
  • Required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.



Preferred Qualifications



  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.


  • Two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
