Description

The Department of Clinical and Translational Sciences is seeking a Data Systems Analyst to support and advance the Clinical Research Information Systems ecosystem. Reporting to the Director and Analytics Manager, this role serves as a subject matter expert in the OnCore Clinical Research Management System (CRMS), the Biomaterial Tracking and Management (BTM) system, and broader clinical research workflows, with a specialized focus on business intelligence and analytics. The analyst will design and enhance the Clinical Research Data Mart by integrating data from multiple sources, including OnCore, webIRB, BTM, Cancer Registry, EPIC, and G/L, using ETL tools, SQL, and modern data lakehouse platforms such as Databricks. They will develop predictive and statistical analytics solutions, define and translate business requirements into technical specifications, and create dashboards, reports, and data pipelines using Tableau, Jasper Reports, SSRS, SSIS, and Excel.

The role also provides hands-on application support for OnCore and BTM, manages release testing and vendor coordination, and helps build and maintain system interfaces such as EPIC integrations. Success in this position requires strong technical acumen, curiosity, and the ability to partner across clinical and operational teams to elevate data quality, accessibility, and insight generation. Annual range: $105,700-$234,500

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Mathematics or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 7 years of related experience or training
  • Strong experience in Oracle SQL development/ Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Strong knowledge about ETL process and design/data modeling.
  • Strong knowledge of Tableau dashboards
  • Proficiency in Python for data analysis, automation, and integration tasks
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to communicate up, down and across levels of the organization
  • Experience organizing and managing detailed information
  • Strong analytical and problem resolution skills
  • Ability to work in a complex, matrix team environment; experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, set priorities, schedule, and meet deadlines.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience working in clinical research
  • Epic Data Model certification
  • Databricks Data Analysis certification
  • Epic Clarity certification
  • Master of Science in Data Analytics/Healthcare Informatics
