At Central Plateau Cleanup Company (CPCCo) in Richland, Washington, we are committed to creating a sustainable future for the historic Hanford Site. Our mission is to protect the Columbia River and remediate the Central Plateau by safely managing and reducing some of the most hazardous waste streams and facilities in the Department of Energy (DOE) complex.

We are seeking a Prime Contract Specialist to join our Business Services team-a results-driven, self-motivated, and well-organized professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about making a meaningful impact.

As a Prime Contract Specialist, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.

* Provide authoritative contract interpretations in coordination with the Legal department.

* Lead and contribute to contract reporting for project management, senior leadership, and DOE clients with accuracy and professionalism.

* Research and advise on complex contract matters, including:
- Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
- Department of Energy Acquisition Regulations (DEAR)
- DOE Orders and Acquisition Guides
- DOE Head of Contracting Activity (HCA) memos
- Contract and Performance-Based Incentive reporting
- Federal contracting precedent and best practices

* Ability to write clear, concise, and persuasive documents (e.g., position papers, proposals, presentations).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong research, critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

* Collaborative mindset with a focus on team success and stakeholder engagement.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze emerging issues and solve problems to meet schedules and deliverable expectations.
- Engage with all levels of management to support contract change, compliance, and risk mitigation.

* Establish strong cross-functional internal and customer relationships to identify and communicate scope changes and their cost/schedule impacts.

* Support the development and review of contract correspondence, modifications, task order proposals, change orders, and equitable adjustment requests. Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency and accountability.

* Assist with post-submittal actions, including RFIs and contract negotiations.

* Interface with Contracting Officers, CORs, and other government representatives.

* Monitor and support field teams to ensure timely delivery of contract commitments and submittals.

* Lead and support process improvements in collaboration with team members and other departments, including project controls, finance, risk management, and project/functional areas.

* Contribute to the development and revision of Prime Contract policies and guidance.

* Propose solutions to complex contractual issues and deliver high-quality, actionable results.


Basic Qualifications


* Senior Level Grade 18: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with 8 or more years of relevant experience.

* Senior Level Grade 19: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with 9 or more years of relevant experience.

* Principal Level Grade 20: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with 10 or more years of relevant experience.

The higher posted level has greater scope, complexity, authority, impact. The level offered to the selected candidate will be based on the needs of the company and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience.


Desired Qualifications


* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
* Understanding of project controls terminology and processes.
* Familiarity with IDIQ and cost-reimbursement contracting.
* Experience in contract reporting and compliance oversight.


Compensation & Benefits


In accordance with the CPCCo salary determination process, CPCCo takes into consideration the level of assigned job duties and responsibilities, and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience relative to internal peers and the external labor market. CPCCo will not solicit salary history for candidates.

Expected annualized pay range based on full time schedule (40 hours per week):

2026 Salary Ranges:
* Senior Level Grade 18: $94,750 - $151,800
* Senior Level Grade 19: $104,200 - $166,650
* Principal Level Grade 20: $114,700 - $183,450

In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for variable pay awards.
