Position Highlights

This position is an extended temporary position for approximately12 months to help research and administratively support scientific manuscript preparation & submission.
Preparing a manuscript for publication involves following specific guidelines, structuring content clearly, and adhering to the requirements of the chosen journal. Each journal has specific author guidelines that must be followed.
The successful candidate will carefully review guidelines to format, structure content and prepare for manuscript submission. The candidate will also support regular communication between authors during the manuscript development process and communications with scientific journal staff during the manuscript editing process.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Professional journal manuscript preparation including gathering manuscript content, formatting, organizing, referencing, and submission steps.
  • Develop and manage reference data and files journals.
  • Schedule meetings between authors to review manuscript content, make revisions as necessary and ensure timely submissions.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient skills in utilizing ENDNote,Microsoft Word and Zoom software programs.
  • Prior experience in scientific manuscript preparation including formatting, editing, submission.
  • Prior experience experience in research related field.
  • Prior experience with PubMed and related research search engines.
  • Prior experience working with endnote or similar reference management system.
  • Prior experience coordinating & scheduling for research related meetings.
  • Prior experience and training in U of A policies & procedures (information security, etc.)
