The department of Student Centers and Activities consists of the daily operation of six student centers located on 4 campuses. These student centers accommodate 15,800 events annually, with 655,333 participants attending, and 4 million visitors annually. The department also consists of five separate student programming/services units. These units are: Student Involvement, Leadership and Experiential Learning, E Sports Center,
WRSU, and Major Events and Programs. The department employs 40 professional staff and 500 student employees. The four cultural centers employ a total of 16 professional staff members. |

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Business Manager II, Supervisor for SA - Finance and Administration Central Business Office. Reporting to the Director, Budgeting and Accounting, Division of Student Affairs and a member of the Division of Student Affairs central business office, this position oversees all financial, accounting, and business-related activities for the department of Student Centers and Activities, four Cultural Centers (Asian American, Paul Robeson, Social Justice and Equity, and Latino Arts and Culture), as well as the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Oversees a number of key areas including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, payroll approvals (student employees), purchasing (including contracts), externally generated revenues, and cash and credit card operations.
- Handles oversight and reconciliation of the division's event and programming software, Tix, which is used to manage major event and programming registration.
- Supervises a Business Specialist who supports the accounting, budgeting and business functions of the Business Manager II.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field and at least five (5) years of experience in an accounting, financial or budgetary function and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), accounting and financial functions, administration, work organization, administrative and fiscal management and coordination of multiple demands.

- Ability to supervise a full time employee.
- Knowledge of risk management principles and practices and the ability to apply them to the field of campus engagement and related activities.
- Demonstrated intermediate level Excel skills at a minimum, and hands on experience in the use of enterprise or integrated financial accounting systems.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
- Detail-oriented, systematic, and exceptionally well-organized individual with ability to manage multiple competing priorities that may change frequently.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to gather information, assess complex issues, be flexible, and respond to emergencies posed by colleagues in a calm and congenial manner.
- Work must be performed accurately and individual must be able to meet deadlines in a high-volume organization without jeopardizing the integrity of the financial system.
- Good communication, customer service and computer literacy skills.
