Responsibilities

Howmet Fastening Systems is looking for a Production Supervisor - Midnight Shift to lead, facilitate, and coordinate production personnel in collaboration with the Production Manager to achieve safety, quality and on time delivery. Work with other Production Supervisors in a collaborative manner to support employee engagement, training and development initiatives. This position is located the Kingston, NY manufacturing facility.

Our products are used nose to tail on commercial and military aircraft, as well as on jet engines, industrial gas turbines, automobiles, commercial transportation vehicles, wind turbines, solar power systems, and construction and industrial equipment.

Job duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with factory personnel to carryout production and resource requirement plans to meet HFS and Customer quality and delivery expectations.

  • Supports the training and development of skills and teamwork. Assists in assessing individual and group performance and skills.

  • Coaches and counsels' employees to execute and improve job performance:

  • Coordinates work and vacation schedules. Ensures adherence to labor contract, attendance, and other policies.

  • Facilitates development of new process methods and continuous improvements projects. Facilitates production personnel in solving quality, process, machining, and other manufacturing related problems.

  • Instructs employees on safe work practices and ensures they are properly followed. Maintains good housekeeping practices.

  • Facilitates and coordinates communication of needs and requirements with other production cells and support departments. Involves production personnel in communication with other departments.

  • Ensures forms and reports are completed accurately and in a timely manner, (e.g., Labor Vouchers, transfer tickets, attendance, etc).

  • Performs other related duties as required.

Salary range - $70,000 - $80,000 annual

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

Education:

  • Associate degree required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Four (4) years experience in a manufacturing environment;

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position;

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree;

  • Two (2) years' experience in a Leadership Role;

  • Leadership Experiences in precision machining.

Basic Skills:

  • Working knowledge of MRP system;

  • Proficient with Microsoft excel and Word;

  • Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.

Preferred Skills:

  • Working knowledge of LN or Baan MRP programs;

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel including, pivot tables, formulas, charts, etc.
