Job Description

The Corporate Controller will lead and direct all corporate accounting functions which include general accounting, financial reporting, GAAP guidance, establishment and maintenance of accounting and company-wide financial policies and management of external auditor relationships. This individual will lead professional staff at headquarters and will have dotted-line relationships with the operations and divisional controllers throughout the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct and continuously improve the company-wide financial close and consolidation processes.
  • Direct all aspects of financial reporting and the timely preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for internal and external parties.
  • Lead, mentor, staff and manage the corporate accounting and reporting teams.
  • Ensure timely and accurate accounting treatment of all transactions and reporting under US GAAP and country specific statutory filings.
  • Oversee the development, implementation and communication of accounting policies, ensuring compliance with US GAAP on a worldwide basis and interact with Segment, Division and Operational Controllers to develop, maintain and monitor best practice financial accounting policies and
  • Direct the implementation of new accounting standards, assess the implications, if any, and implement adoption where appropriate,
  • Provide guidance and support to Segment, Division and Operational Controllers regarding accounting policies and financial reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with other corporate departments to develop and manage budgets and regular forecast updates.
  • Conducts a wide range of special projects, including M&A financial due diligence and valuation analysis, annual Controller's Conference and corporate office
  • Keeps abreast of latest accounting, internal control, costing and project control
  • Conducts quarterly financial reviews of various company operations

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ten plus years progressive experience in financial
  • Public accounting background with minimum seven years financial management/controllership experience in a global, public, multi-plant, process-driven manufacturing
  • Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP with a demonstrated ability in researching and documenting complex accounting issues.
  • Capable of operating in a fast-paced environment, able to handle pressure well, be self-motivated and detail oriented.
  • Strong communication, planning and organizational
  • A creative, analytical problem solver with bias for
  • Strong leadership/change agent skills. Successful record of developing and mentoring
  • Knowledge of international accounting standards a plus.
  • BS/CPA required, MBA
