As an Automation Engineer, you'll lead the full lifecycle of industrial automation projects-from planning and design to programming, installation, and commissioning. You will serve as the technical leader, guiding cross-disciplinary teams, delivering innovative control system solutions, and ensuring exceptional client satisfaction. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with project leadership and client collaboration in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Responsibilities:




  • Lead design, programming, and implementation of control systems including PLC, HMI, PC-based solutions, and database integration.



  • Prepare drawings, fabrication documents, BOMs, and wiring diagrams per UL standards.



  • Configure, install, troubleshoot, and maintain PC/PLC hardware, software, and customer networks.



  • Collaborate with project managers and cross-disciplinary teams to define project scope, schedule, and deliverables.



  • Conduct site surveys, supervise installation and commissioning, and provide operator training.



  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through presentations, site visits, and technical support.



  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, contracts, and confidentiality requirements.



  • Perform project management tasks on smaller projects as needed.




Salary: $105,000 - $120,000

Experience and Education:




  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Studies; Associate's degree with relevant experience considered.



  • Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial control system programming, implementation, and client interaction; or equivalent combination of education and experience.



  • Strong knowledge of PLC, HMI, PC programming, database systems, field installation, troubleshooting, and project management.




Location:
Fort Collins, CO (may include occasional hybrid flexibility depending on project needs)

Travel:
Up to 25% travel may be required for site visits, installation, and client support.
