Job Objective:

The Territorial Spiritual Life Resource Specialist will support ministry initiatives of two departments, the Territorial Spiritual Life Development (SLD) and Corps and Community Mission (CACM).

Compensation Range: $30.61 to $36.01/hourly, based on experience.

Essential Functions:

For both departments, this position will be responsible for



  • Researching and/or creating helpful content (i.e., manual, pamphlets, digital, videos) for ministry materials, tools and resources for corps use. Projects may range from soldiership training, discipleship materials, worship series, evangelism tools, local officer training, altar ministry, spiritual development, etc.
  • Contributing to the departments' websites and other social media platforms.

    • Share resources created by respective departments
    • Promote upcoming events


  • May be asked to facilitate and/or present presentations/workshops
  • Minimal administrative tasks for the SLD Secretary, such as fielding phone calls, scheduling events, managing the shared department mailbox, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:



  • Bachelors' degree preferred from an accredited college or university in Worship Studies, Christian Leadership and Management, Church Ministry, Spiritual Life Development, Evangelism Theological Studies, or a related field; or commissioned from The Salvation Army College for Officers' Training.
  • Successful use of social media platforms to increase online presence and awareness of a program, group, ministry, etc.
  • Experience in research and development of ministry resources and materials.
  • Salvation Army soldier preferred.


OR: Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities

Skills:

  • Ability to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership and field personnel.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and problem solve.
  • Organized and self-motivated.
  • Ability to type and enter data.
  • Experience writing copy for social media and/or websites.
  • Microsoft Office Products (Word, Publisher, Excel and Power Point).
  • Ability to use Canva and Adobe software.
  • Microsoft Office 365.
  • Knowledge of content creation for a variety of social media platforms.


Knowledge:



  • The Salvation Army doctrines, mission, and philosophy.
  • Christian theology.


Abilities:



  • Research, create, develop, promote, and coordinate new program materials which support departments and comply with Salvation Army doctrines.
  • Organize work, set priorities, meet deadlines, and follow up assignments with a minimum of direction.


Supervisory Responsibility:

None.

Travel:

Occasional travel, possibly overnight (approximately three times per year), may be necessary for territorial, divisional and corps events to support the departments.
