We are actively looking for a Pacific Regional Inspection & Rehabilitation Lead to join our Honolulu Team. This role will include leading multidisciplinary teams in the identification, pursuit, and successful delivery of inspection and rehabilitation projects, across the state and the Pacific.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Builds and maintains key client relationships through deep client knowledge, client relationships, and industry leadership
  • Coordinates and collaborates with clients, regulatory/review entities, engineering disciplines, sub-consultants, for successful project pursuits and project delivery
  • Serves as the Project Director for select bridge engineering and inspection projects as needed
  • Manages a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, designers, and other disciplines to successfully deliver project plans, specifications, reports, and other deliverables and outcomes to clients and partners
  • Provides authoritative senior technical reviews related to NBIS/NTIS requirements and recommendations for repairs and preservation options with associated estimated costs
  • Manages the monitoring, tracking and reporting of projects, including schedule(s) and progress
  • Guides and supports the career development of Moffatt & Nichol staff in various offices around the company
  • Regularly engages with leadership committees and stakeholders to create, communicate, and implement strategic growth plans
  • Coordinates with stakeholders to guide our ongoing digital transformation efforts
  • Supports the I&R Discipline Practice Lead as a hiring manager for select positions
  • Engages with federal clients to maintain relationships, monitor satisfaction, promote our services, and guide industry changes
  • Promotes excellence and invigorates a culture of exceptionalism
  • Adheres to Moffatt & Nichol Quality Management System and all safety requirements
  • Performs occasional field work as an engineer diver or an inspection lead as needed
  • Performs other duties as requested by management

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; required
  • Master's degree in Civil, Structural, or Coastal Engineering; preferred
  • Professional Engineer license (PE) in HI; required
  • 20+ years of experience leading inspection and rehabilitation project delivery teams; required
  • Has a well-developed project/program management reputation with state and local transportation, and municipal clients
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to negotiate effectively
  • Valid driver's license in good standing
  • Intimate knowledge and experience with relevant codes and standards
  • Current NHI certifications to lead bridge and tunnel inspections
  • Working knowledge of diving and climbing operations is required. SPRAT and ADCI, HSE, DCBC, IMCA, ADAS or completion of a US military equivalent diving school certifications are preferred
  • Possess DBIDS card or eligibility to successfully pass background check to secure Department of Defense DBIDS card and other badges required by clients
  • Selected candidate must consent to and pass a post-offer/pre-employment drug screening
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Base salary range:

$190,000 to $232,000 based on years of experience, level of education obtained, professional registration, and meeting the required qualifications in the job description. In addition to salary, Moffatt & Nichol also offers generous rope access and dive pay along with a personal equipment reimbursement program.

Base salary range only applicable for candidates who will be hired and working in the Hawaii market.

Working conditions:

The incumbent works in both the office and field:

  • Office work requires ongoing focus
  • Field work requires exposure to extreme elements
  • Some extended days, evenings, and weekend work requirements

Physical requirements:

This role requires the incumbent to be in excellent physical condition:

  • Diving and/or climbing require specific physical conditioning and strength
  • Field work requires incumbent to carry equipment while climbing or over unpaved, rural, and unmarked terrain
  • The incumbent must be able to lift, carry, climb, and navigate in a small boat
